History of Baliraja Magazine and Agro India
Baliraja, the monthly magazine on agriculture was started by P.B. Bhosale in 1970.
The concept was to feed farmers in all their needs, educating them about his livelihood, new developments and new techniques in Agriculture, new cropping patterns, farmer stories and cultural development.
The Journey of Baliraja can be divided in 4 decades. 1970-80 was survival decade. Mr. Bhosale fought all battles single handedly.
There when he actually spent 3 years in farming and realized very severe problems faced by farmers. He acquired 1st hand experience from many failures and experiments. In 3 years he transformed his ancestral farm into an ideal farm.

There was no looking back from 1980 to 1990, Baliraja grew to become a profitable venture. It’s popularity grew and support of advertising increased. With active help of his son and wife, Baliraja prospered.
Baliraja started organizing seminars for farmers, which were a great success. Mango Cultivation, Food Processing, Organic Farming, Dry Land Agriculture, Medicinal and Aromatic plant farming, Agricultural Exports, were some of the successful seminars. Later seminar activity was undertaken by Agro India.
Today Baliraja is read & referred by 5,00,000 professional farmers every month. All major co-operatives, Banks, all universities, more than 4000 Agro Traders read Baliraja regularly. Baliraja enjoys credit for all the new trends in Agriculture in Maharashtra.
Baliraja is the most popular, most read & respected Agricultural monthly in India. Farmers from Karnataka, Gujarat, M.P are promising publishers to start editions for their states.

Giving farmers all the agricultural books under one roof was the turning point in Baliraja history. From1991, this activity was started. Today more than 2000 books published by more than 300 publishers available under one banner of Krishi Granth Bhandar.
Agro India was started by Mr. Nitin alias Ravindra Bhosale with help from his wife Mrs. Mrunalini Bhosale in 1995. Initially 8 international seminars on high tech agriculture were organized at Pune and Bangalore. More than 15 experts from abroad and 30 top Indian experts expressed their views in these seminars.
India’s first video cassette on high-tech Agriculture was produced by Agro India. Educating farmers by Audio cassettes was pioneered in India by Agro India. More than 1,00,000 audio cassettes on 24 subjects were sold in Maharashtra. Agro India has organized 3 mega Agri-Exhibitions at Amravati (Maharashtra), Burhanpur (M.P) and Chandigarh. More than 3,00,000 farmers visited these exhibitions.
In 2001, Agro India entered into area of farmer’s Almanacs. This concept was pioneered by Agro India. Today, farmer’s Almanacs in 9 Indian languages as wall calenders, are produced by Agro India for several organizations.
Today the Farmer’s Almanac concept is hottest selling idea in Rural India.
Agro India has produced more than 24 films in Marathi, Hindi, English & Gujarati. The film on Organic Farming won 2 National awards as Best Agricultural Film and Mrs. Mrunalini Bhosale as the Best Director. Organic Farming is the largest selling Agri-VCD in Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati and English.

How to develop constructive tie-ups? Plz.suggest.
