Nashik Dec 3 : Thousands of persons from Nashik District and surrounding districts, many with families, visited the Renuka Krishi Mahotsav, an agriculture exhibition organised at Chandwad APMC grounds on the third day.
The most important part of this exhibition was a large number of Govt. stalls giving information on crucial schemes for farmers, handicapped persons etc.
The Yeshwantrao Chavan Open University had a significant presence through its agriculture dept. A huge number of booklets priced from Rs 5 to Rs 10 was a notable achievement of this world class university doing its duty towards farmers by making technical literature available at such low rates.
This Agriculture exhibition Renuka Krishi Mahotsav has been organized in Chandwad taluka of Nashik district from 30 November to 4 December on the occasion of the International Year of Cereals by host Dr Atmaram Kumbharde, Chairman of Chandwad APMC and BJP Block Leader in ZP.
The exhibition has been organised by Maharashtra Govt. Agriculture Dept. and Sanjeevini Multipurpose Society, Chandwad. Through this exhibition, the organisers have created a forum for farmers on a national level.
The Zilla Parishad (ZP) Animal Husbandry Dept, through its stall gave information on various diseases affecting milch animals and treatment facilities provided by the ZP. The Panchayat Samiti Chandwad Agriculture Dept. urged farmers to undertake sericulture.
During this exhibition, agriculturists, policy makers, like minded individuals and Govt. officials have come together for the betterment of this crucial sector and the object is to bring together people for strengthening this sector for the future.
There are total 170 stalls in 6 groups in categories like agriculture equipment/machiners, Govt. of Maharashtra stall, seeds and fertilisers, agri startups, finance banks etc, agri companies, drip irrigation, consumers and self help groups.
The huge covered pavilion has ample parking facility, individual electricity with backup generator, and water supply, medical and fire safety availability, food court etc, prefabricated stalls in a dome, special conference rooms, lectures by experts etc.
Over 200 companies are participating through the stalls featuring fertilisers, agriculture chemicals, veterinary medicines, seeds, agriculture implements, tractors, farm equipment, irrigation, horticulture, packaging, warehousing, aquaculture, biotechnlogy, tissue culture, water management, automation, sola energy, dairy equipment, poultry equipment, agriculture finance, agriculture literature etc have been put up.
Nashik district has got a great heritage of agriculture sector and many enterprising farmers are coming into the limelight in recent times. Farming is being done by taking advantage of modern technology, breaking the traditional agriculture.
The organizers said that the information from seeds to every agricultural implement will be available here.
Information to farmers include tools of modern technology, water management, poly-house/greenhouse, new seeds, new machinery, various schemes of the Maharashtra government, various schemes of the agriculture department, various schemes of banking, encouraging women entrepreneurs in self-help groups, agricultural supplements.
For new entrepreneurs, information on onion crop, grape crop as well as expert guidance camps on maize crops was organized through this agricultural exhibition.
