Tribal Cultural Building at Nandurbar : Dr Gavit

Nandurbar (Aug 30) Nandurbar was created as the first tribal dominated district in the state on this date exactly 25 years ago. During the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the district, the multicultural face of Nandurbar will be exposed to the world through the construction of tribal cultural building and memorials of Veer Eklavya and Bhagwan Birsa Munda will be erected in Nandurbar city.

Tthe administration has been instructed to submit a report on the matter within eight days, stated Dr Vijayakumar Gavit, Guardian Minister of Nandurbar District.

Dr. Gavit was speaking during the review meeting of the construction of tribal cultural building, memorial of Veer Eklavya and Bhagwan Birsa Munda in the collector’s office on Wednesday. Zilla Parishad President Dr. Supriya Gavit, MP Dr. Hina Gavit, Collector Manisha Khatri, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad S. Sawan Kumar, Additional Collector Dhananjay Gogte, Resident Deputy Collector Sudhir Khande, Deputy Collector Govind Danej, Project Officer Chandrakant Pawar, Probationary Officer Anjali Sharma, Tehsildar Nitin Garje and officers of various Govt. departments were present at the meeting.

Dr. Gavit further said, museums will be established in Nagpur and Nashik to preserve the art, culture, costumes and traditions of the tribal community in the state and currently the work of preparing their draft plan is going on. The art culture of different tribal tribes of the state will be introduced to the world through this museum.

Modern cultural buildings will be constructed in eight tribal-dominated districts including Nandurbar. Also last year a state level tribal cultural festival was organized at Nashik in the state. This year the festival is planned to be held at Nandurbar on the occasion of Lord Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary in November on the occasion of the silver jubilee year of the district.

Various programs like tribal traditional food festival, tribal traditional dance competition, tribal short film and documentary festival, state level tribal traditional handicraft exhibition and sale will be organized from this festival. The guardian minister said that there are various schemes of the central and state governments for the upliftment of the tribals and these schemes are being carried out to the tribals at the grassroot level through cultural festivals. Gavit said.

The Guardian Minister also said, in the next eight days, appropriate action should be taken about the construction of cultural buildings and memorials, and information should be submitted. Information about the calculation and strength of the space should be submitted.

Dr Gavit gave instructions to the administration to take detailed information about the cultural buildings/complexes being constructed at various places in the district and to fulfill all the legal and regulatory matters for erecting memorials.

The Collector Manisha Khatri, president of Zilla Parishad Dr. Supriya Gavit, MP Dr Hina Gavit and officials participated the discussion in the meeting.
